La Touche is an old farm complex on the edge of the picturesque village of Hénansal
in the Côtes d'Armor department of Brittany.
During our visit to France for a gite holiday in the spring
of 2005, we fell in love with the life that the people running the gites seemed to be enjoying and decided to leave
our jobs and start a new life in France. In the summer of 2005, we found La Touche, bought the place in January 2006
and finally moved in that June.
Since then, we have been converting three old buildings (a long barn, a cider
press and a bread oven) into a complex of seven 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bed gites. As we have a young family of our own (Sam
was born in England in April 2004; Evie was born in St Brieuc, France in August 2006), we have designed our on-site facilities,
such as the outdoor play area, games room and swimming pool to be suitable for all visitors, including those with
younger children.
This page shows some before, during and after photographs to give you some idea of the scale
of the project we undertook!
